About

Bio about Cary Ruby.

The new junior partner isn't quite used to agency hours just yet.

Writer, creative director, human. Cary Ruby has traveled around the sun upwards of 40 times. Amazing, right? He was also named TIME Magazine’s Person of Year for 2006*. As a graduate of UCLA in Political Science, Cary began his career working in politics. Deciding he needed something a little more cutthroat, he got his masters from VCU Adcenter and embarked on a career in advertising.

He's worked and freeelanced for nearly two decades at agencies including: 180LA, Deutsch, Saatchi, TBWA Chiat/Day LA and NY, G&M Plumbing and many others. And he’s worked on a wide variety of brands including: DIRECTV, VW, HBO, Toyota, HP, Taco Bell, Disney/Pixar, Target, Pizza Hut, Miller Brewing, Bank of New York/Mellon, Energizer.

If you were to ever meet his mother, she would probably tell you, in her charming Texas accent, that his work has been recognized by a number of publications and organizations including: The One Show, Communication Arts, Clios, Athenas, the ADDYs, The Beldings, Adweek, Creativity and Yahoo! Big Idea. He would never mention this, but she would. A couple of times, possibly.

He lives with his wife and two children in the Los Feliz/Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Get to know him. He’d like that.

*an honor he technically shares with every living human being on the planet in 2006. Or possibly just subscribers of TIME Magazine, it was never made fully clear by the publication.
